GLP-1 Weight Management Program Disclosure Important Information Before Starting Treatment
The medications used in our weight management program, including GLP-1 receptor agonists and related medications, are prescription medications intended to assist with weight loss when used alongside healthy lifestyle changes. Individual results vary significantly.
Individual Response Cannot Be Predicted
We cannot predict whether you will respond to treatment, how much weight you may lose, how quickly you may lose weight, how long the medication will remain effective, the degree of appetite suppression you will experience, or whether you will reach your desired weight goal. Results vary from person to person.
Side Effects Cannot Be Predicted
We cannot predict if you will experience side effects, which side effects may occur, or their severity. Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, abdominal discomfort, heartburn, fatigue, headache, dizziness, and injection-site reactions. Less common but serious adverse effects may occur.
Dose Requirements Vary
Each patient responds differently. Higher doses do not guarantee better results and may increase the likelihood of side effects.
Lifestyle Changes Are Essential
Medication is intended to support—not replace—a healthy diet, adequate protein intake, regular exercise, hydration, quality sleep, and long-term healthy lifestyle habits.
No Guarantee of Results
Our clinic cannot guarantee any amount of weight loss, improvement in medical conditions, maintenance of weight loss after stopping medication, or continued response over time.
Weight Regain After Discontinuation
Many patients experience some degree of weight regain after stopping GLP-1 medications, particularly if healthy lifestyle habits are not maintained. Some individuals may require long-term treatment to help maintain results.
Ongoing Medical Follow-Up
Regular follow-up appointments are important to monitor progress, assess side effects, adjust dosing when appropriate, and determine whether continued treatment is suitable.
Patient Responsibilities
Patients should provide complete and accurate medical information, disclose all medications and supplements, report significant side effects promptly, follow dosing instructions, and notify the clinic of pregnancy, planned pregnancy, new medical conditions, or surgeries.
Medical Risks
As with any prescription medication, GLP-1 therapy carries potential risks. Seek immediate medical attention for severe abdominal pain, persistent vomiting, signs of an allergic reaction, difficulty breathing, severe dehydration, or any other serious or concerning symptoms.
